Lake Shannon, Concrete, Washington

Lake Shannon, in Concrete, Washington was an absolutely beautiful place to visit. It was a cold day, but gorgeous out. A little bit about Lake Shannon; it’s a 2,000-acre reservoir on the Baker River in Concrete that was created sometime in the 1920s by the Lower Baker Dam. It is a popular scenic spot for boating, fishing for kokanee salmon, and camping.

I originally went on a drive to Concrete with my niece and two dogs to check out the road damage and to also see if there was any major damage from the recent flooding here in Washington. These floods were absolutely catostrophic to Concrete and many other surrounding and distant areas. Concrete suffered from major historic flooding, up to 41 feet on December 11th, 2025 - the previous record of 38 feet. Fortunately, there was no noticeable damage in the areas of Concrete that I went to. Once I got in Concrete, I decided to show my niece a beautiful spot, and to let my dogs roam around a little bit to get out of the car. It’s a long winding road to get there, but is also beautiful and just as worth it.

As we pulled in, we immediately saw the gorgeous views of Mount Baker and the beautiful Lake Shannon!

We let the dogs out and went walking around and I captured some photos. These photos will be the first of many sold on this site! Coming soon, at an unknown date at the moment, the “Lake Shannon” Package will be listed on the store.
